Scania L113CRL

一九九五年，TIBS除了向荷蘭DAF及德國平治購入單層巴士外，亦向瑞典的Scania購入五十台L113CRL底盤，並於英國配上亞歷山大Strider車身，再付運到新加坡。這批Scania L113CRL是除了同期引進的DAF SB220外，TIBS中另一款裝配亞歷山大車身的巴士，而這款Strider車身，除了見於這款Scania巴士之外，還見於新加坡巴士部份富豪B10M Intercooled巴士上。這五十架Scania L113CRL都是配置了空調設備，而Hispacold空調機是安放於底部，這安排亦是常見於TIBS的單層巴士上。除了隊末四架一直等到一九九七年才領牌，其餘L113CRL均於一九九五年投入服務。

在引進這五十架Scania L113CRL之後一年，TIBS再引進十五架L113CRL，不同的是此批新車是以非空調形式出現，車身改配希臘ELBO出品，最大特色是前門沒有任何梯級，以一個斜面出現，至於中門仍維持有一級梯級安排，這安排在新加坡公共巴士而言還是首次。因應進一步推廣空調巴士服務，這十五架ELBO車身Scania L113CRL亦無例外，被安排加裝空調，雖然同是Hispacold出品，但不同亞歷山大版本的同款巴士，空調機是裝於車頂。

當TIBS於二零零四年重組成SMRT之後，所有仍在服役的Scania L113CRL均被安排翻油全新的SMRT企業色彩，而截至二零一二年五月底，仍有約五十四架Scania L113CRL服務乘客，當中包括有八架配ELBO車身。

Instead of a single decker fleet of DAF from Netherlands and Mercedes Benz from Germany, TIBS also introduced a fleet of 50 Scania L113CRL chassis from Sweden in 1995. All L113CRL bodied by Walter Alexander with their Strider bodyworks in UK and then shipped to Singapore, they are the only bus type with Alexander bodyworks besides DAF SB220 in TIBS fleet. To go one step further, some of the SBS Volvo B10M Intercooled also fitted with Strider bodyworks.

The Strider bodied Scania L113CRL was air-conditioned by an underfloor Hispacold air conditioning unit, an usual arrangement in TIBS fleet. Among 46 of them were commissioned in 1995 while the remaining 4 were not yet registered until 1997. A further 15 Scania L113CRL with ELBO bodyworks from Greek were introduced in 1996, unliked the Strider example, they were non air-conditioned when new. This batch of Scania featured with a stepless entrance which is the the first in Singapore. As to strengthen the air-conditioned bus fleet, TIBS converted all the ELBO bodied Scania to air-conditioned by fitted a roof mounted air-conditioned pod supplied by Hispacold.

When TIBS merged into SMRT in 2004, all survived Scania in the fleet were passed to SMRT and repainted with new corporate livery. Until the end of May, 2012, about 54 Scania L113CRL (8 of them were ELBO samples) still in service.
