青年JNP6120GR YoungMan JNP6120GR

青年客車成功於二零一四年奪得新創建交通服務有限公司的訂單，提供二十四架JNP6120GR大型單層低地台巴士，以供應旗下的城巴及新巴作替換老舊單層巴士之用。在二十四架新車中，新巴獲分配八架JNP6120GR，作為替代一九九八至一九九九年投入服務的丹尼士飛鏢。
青年JNP6120GR是新巴車隊中首款來自國內的巴士款式，同時亦是繼飛鏢之後，第二款出現的單層巴士。畢竟青年巴士跟飛鏢面世時間已經相差了十多年，青年JNP6120GR在不同地方都跟英國的單層巴士有所差異。首先，JNP6120GR是一款大型單層低地台巴士，這已經是跟屬中型巴士的飛鏢有所分別，儘管大型單層巴士早已經存在於島上另一家巴士公司一段日子，但在新巴歷史上，以至昔日的中巴車隊，出現大型單層空調巴士還是首次。另外，新巴於一九九八年九月一日正式營運時，標榜其環保車隊(這當然包括飛鏢低地台巴士)，是採用當年最先進的歐盟二型引擎，時至今日應用在青年巴士身上，已經是一台來自德國猛獅的歐五排放標準引擎。
值得一提是，青年JNP6120GR是採用引擎廢氣再循環技術(EGR)，令到廢氣排放符合歐盟五型標準，是新巴車隊中首款，亦是暫時唯一一款採用同一技術的歐五車隊型號。至於車上其他機械規格，甚至車廂配置都跟城巴如出一轍，而全車載客量同為三十四個座位加三十七個企位。
首批三架青年JNP6120GR(2604，2605及2607)先後於二零一五年六月下旬登記出牌，並安排行走27及110路線，隨後新車陸續投入服務後，行走路線包括13，15C，25，26，81，94A及971。另一個值得記錄的地方是，新巴青年單層巴士是繼亞歷山大丹尼士Enviro500 Hybrid及富豪B9TL十一米新車後，第三款採用新版本的企業色彩車款。
YoungMan successfully won the tender from NWS Transport in 2014 and total 24 JNP6120GR full-sized single decker delivered to City Bus and NWFB respectively. As a replacement of the Dennis Dart entered service between 1998 and 1999, a batch of 8 JNP6120GR is going to join the fleet of NWFB.
It is the first time for NWFB introduced buses from a mainland manufacturer and this is the second single bus model in the fleet. YoungMan showing some differences between the Dennis Dart from UK. YoungMan is a full-sized single decker while the Dart is a mid-sized single decker, this is the first for NWFB and even CMB, the ancestor of the Island franchised bus market. At the date when NWFB started it service, it said that all new buses acquired are Euro 2 standard, the most environment friendly at that time. For the YoungMan at present, it is more advanced as a Euro 5 engine supplied form MAN fitted on it.
To go one step further, YoungMan JNP6120GR is the first bus model adapted the EGR technology to achieve the Euro5 emission standard and is the only one in NWFB at present. Not only the mechanical specification, but also the carrying capacity is same as the JNP6120GR operated in City Bus with total 71 passengers can be accommodated.
The first three NWFB YoungMan started their service on route 27 and 110 in the end of Jun., 2015. As all the YoungMan registered, NWFB deployed them on various routes like 13, 15C, 25, 26, 81, 94A and 971. It should be mentioned that JNP6120GR is the third to be decorated with latest version NWFB livery after the ADL Enviro500 Hybrid and the Volvo B9TL 11.3m.
