澳門公共汽車股份有限公司 Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos de Macau, S.A

澳門公共汽車股份有限公司前身為澳門海島市小輪船有限公司,顧名思義為澳門半島及離島提供海上交通接駁服務。當連接澳門半島及氹仔的澳氹大橋於一九七四年通車,往返兩地的交通模式預計將由過往倚賴海上交通,變成陸上交通為主,眼見經營渡輪服務將大受影響,小輪船公司便將營運重心改為巴士業務上,收購早於五十年代,於路環及氹仔地區營運的一眾巴士公司以營運巴士服務,隨後並成功投得營辦大橋巴士路線,而往返兩地的渡輪服務亦於成為了歷史的一頁。

跟福利相似,小輪船公司車隊於營運初期都是以英國巴士為主,但大部份都是一手新車,當中最特別是來自氹仔巴士公司,改裝自加拿大製造福特Chevrolet C8A CMP軍車底盤的巴士。另外,當福利於一九七五年引進二手雙層巴士時候,小輪船公司則從百福車廠引進空調巴士,並且配用香港黃明車身,成為澳門首批帶空調設備的公共巴士。隨著小輪船公司於一九八五年開辦首條行走澳門半島內的12線,於一九八六年十月重組及更改公司名稱成為澳門公共汽車有限公司,簡稱澳巴。澳巴同樣大舉投資購買新車,當中包括有巴西製造的平治巴士,日產的CB12大型單層巴士及Civilian小型巴士,而踏入九十年代更分別從日野及豐田兩間日本車廠,引進小型巴士及大型單層巴士,與新福利的歐洲巴士分庭抗禮。

來到千禧年代,澳巴亦要面對新福利所遇到的問題,於是二零零五年從深圳五洲龍引進五架新車作評估,以提升載客量及營運效率,當中包括澳門首兩架混合動力巴士。同一時間,澳巴旳日產Civilian小巴短時間內涉及多宗交通意外,令外界對於澳巴服務質素及安全水平有所懷疑,影響到整體公司形象。適逢當時澳巴已經向五洲龍購買一批中型巴士,當巴士運抵澳門後迅即取代了日產小巴位置,同時增強了車隊整體運載力。

澳門政府決心改善公共交通服務水平,其中計劃透過引進新的經營者,透過競爭為市民提供更可靠及優質巴士服務。二零零九年在投標澳門公共巴士批給合同時,澳巴到投標最後一日才遞交標書,其中一部份更於截標時間後才完成提交,因此其投標一度不被接納。經過一輪法律程序之後,最終澳巴獲得其中一個標段的營運權。而就在新營運模式開始之前,南光集團透過澳門中國旅行社入股澳巴,自此澳巴便大舉更換旗下老舊巴士,以迎接新營運環境下的挑戰。

隨著維澳蓮運於二零一三年宣佈破產,有關路線經營權最終交由新成立的新時代公共汽車營運,當中澳巴持有百份之五十的新時代股份,而最終到了二零一八年八月一日,新時代正式併入澳巴,令到後者取代新福利成為全澳最大的公共巴士營運商。

Companhia de Transportes de Passageiros Entre Macau e Ilhas (CTPEMI) was the ancestor of Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos de Macau, S.A (known as T.C.M) which provided the ferry service linking the Macau Peninsula and outlying islands of Macau. CTPEMI foresaw that the mode of outlying islands transport would be changed from the sea to the land after the opening of Macau-Taipa Bridge (Ponte Governador Nobre de Carvalho) sand adversely affected the ferry business. CTPEMI acquired all the bus operators running in Taipa and Coloane and successfully got the award of the franchise of the bus service serving the bridge in 1974 and bus operation become the core business of CTPEMI after the ceased of the ferry service.

The fleet of CTPEMI was similar to Fok Lei with British product as the mainstream, however, most of the fleet was new to CTPEMI like the Bedfrod and the most attractive model is the Chevrolet C8A CMP new to Taipa Bus Co., which made in Canada and actually built on the chassis for military purpose. Moreover, CTPEMI acquired a batch of Bedford air conditioned coach bodied by Wong Ming in Hong Kong and this is the first batch of air conditioned public bus in Macau. CTPEMI restructured into T.C.M in Oct., 1986 after after the commissioned of route 12 in 1985, the first route serving the Macau Peninsula. T.C.M introduced a lot of new buses for example the Benz from Brazil, CB12 full-sized single decker and the Civillian minibus from Nissan of Japan. In 1990s, T.C.M acquired minibuses and full-sized single deckers from Toyota and Nissan respectively in contrast to the European products of Transmac.

T.C.M was also facing the problem as Transmac in the Millennium, to increase carrying capacity and operation efficiency, T.C.M introduced a batch of 5 Wuzhoulong (2 of them were hybrid version) for evaluation in 2005. Unfortunately, the Civilian in the fleet involved several serious accident and aroused the concern of the safety standard of T.C.M. All Civilian soon replaced by a batch of Wuzhoulong midibus and the carrying capacity of T.C.M was also benefited.

In 2009, the Macau S.A.R.Government determined to improve the service standard of the public bus service by introduced new operator. T.C.M submitted the tender at the last day of the application for the bus operation contract and the latter part of the tender even submitted after the cut-off time. The S.A.R Government disqualified T.C.M at first and after a series of legal procedure, T.C.M finally awarded one of the five sectors of the contract. Before the implemented of the new bus operation mode, T.C.M become a subsidiary company of Nam Kwong Group Co., Ltd., one of the main shareholders of the China Travel Service (Macao) Ltd., and T.C.M highly invested in purchasing new buses to cope with the challenge under new bus operation mode.

As Reolian declared to be bankrupt in 2013, the whole operation networks finally handover to the Macau Nova Era de Autocarros Públicos , SA (New Era)and T.C.M hold 50% of the shares of New Era. In 1 Aug., 2018, New Era merged into T.C.M and the latter become the largest public bus operator in Macau.
